Nvidia 8600M & 8400M

Has anyone else heard the news about Nvidia's 8400M and 8600M  series graphics card being faulty and overheating?  I am worried since my Ideapad Y510 came with a Nvidia 8600m GT card.  I know Nvidia said they are working on a driver update that will eleviate the problem.  However, on their website they do not provide drivers for the 8600M cards.  It says to look for the driver on the laptop manufacturer's website.  I've looked for the Nvidia driver on Lenovo's website, but they have not been updated since the last year.  I hope this gets resolved soon.  I just bough my laptop and it would be horrible if the grafics card gets burned out already.  Any one else have any info, news or updates?

Re: Nvidia 8600M & 8400M

Well, as it is said in FAQ on the top of the Ideapad section, you can use modified drivers on your own risk. I use and many people do - that's not harmfull nor bad. it just means that you can't call lenovo and complain on drivers and video/games troubles until you install native driver.

It's a pity, but I do not have ready answer for that - from here you must try on your own, since I'm not able to watch after all drivers updates Robot Sad
