Hi Friendz, I took Ideapad Y460 laptop with windows 7 pre installed having processor i5, 4GB RAM...etc in 2011 Janauray.
I have successfully used Onekey Recovery process and made the system to factory default settings 2,3 times in past. The last time was done almost 1 year back. The system is very slow and found many boot up files and applications and not sure what to keep what to not. So tried again using Onekey Recovery Process having intention to make the system default settings and then install good anti virus. But this time, OneKey Recovery is asking password which was never asked. I dont know what Password it is...tried with many but could not help it out. So installed Onekey rescue drivers from Lenovo site accordingly and tried but still it is asking the same password...Can you guys plz help me how to format/make to factory default settings of this laptop.......Thanks alot for your time on spending this....

In addition to what have already been suggested, your issue might be similar to this thread. I've seen this case before and this password can only be created inside the OneKey Recovery Mode (outside of Windows). There is no master password for this and it's really strange if nobody has setup the password and just suddenly come up automatically.
To restore the unit to factory settings, you can try to:
1. Create a recovery disc using this method and use it to restore the factory default settings.
2. Contact lenovo on how to obtain a copy of the recovery disc.
Alternatively, if the unit came with Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, you can also:
3. Download a bootable Windows 7 Home Premium ISO on this website
4. From here you can:
- burn the ISO using imgburn to create a bootable Windows 7 USB DVD
- create a bootable Windows 7 USB flashdrive using this method.
5. Upon installation, it will automatically activate your copy of Windows via the SLP code on the BIOS. If this doesn't work, try the product key at the bottom of the unit and activate Windows by phone.
Note that this option will just install the OS. Check your D:\ drive to re-install the drivers or you may also get them at the lenovo website.

Hi, I am encoutering the same problem.
I go for a one key recovery and after restarting and booting into recovery mode, it asks for password. I have never set any password for one key recovery.
Is there any way to reset the password for one key recovery? Or is there any way not to be forced to enter password when in recovery mode?
PS: Novo button and hitting f11 many times results in asking for password too.
