I have a P400 running windows 10. For a while now, I've noticed that when I'm running on battery, my wifi connection will only last for a short amount of time. Sometimes it will be 2 minutes, sometimes it will be 20. When it dies, I get a little exclamation point on the wifi icon in the system tray. Sometimes I can disconnect and reconnect to the network, but sometimes that doesn't work. Sometimes I can disable wifi and re-enable it, but sometimes that doesn't work. Sometimes I can reboot and get it back, but sometimes that doesn't work either. The only foolproof way to get it back is to plug in the computer and reboot. As long as its running on AC power, it works fine.
I've tried a full reformat and it still hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

Try disabling power management for the WiFi adapter from within Device Manager
You might check your Windows Power Management scheme in the Control Panel too, since this seems to be related to power modes.
