Parts lookup error

I have a z500 laptop.

In the parts lookup when I enter my S/n it says :Error : Could not retrieve parts information for ...
But in the "http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-service/warranty-status/" I have no problem and it recognizes my S/n

Re: Parts lookup error

Hi Amir,

In that case, I suggest you to download the HMM (Hardware Maintenance Manual) for all the parts related information of the Laptop. Below is the link to download the HMM for the same:

Re: Parts lookup error

In this list it says that your hard disk is 250/320/500 or 750 but I have 1TB hard disk. What's the problem? Is it ok to trust to the information of this HMM?

Re: Parts lookup error

Hi Amir,

As per the HMM and Datasheet the capacity of the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) may vary but if the speed of the HDD is same then it will be supported by the Laptop, below is the link for the datasheet where there are complete details for Z500 upgrades.

Do post us back for further queries.

Re: Parts lookup error

Hi Amir,

I suggest you to install the Bluetooth Driver (Liteon/Atheros, CyberTan/Broadcom), if it is an incompatible hardware an error will automatically popup. Please let me know the findings.

Hope to hear back soon

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar
