Physical Recovery Media

I find it incredibly cheap that you no longer get a Windows disc, or at least a DVD to recover your laptop incase of failure. My question is with the One Key Recovery (version 8) how do I create my own Windows 8 disc? I really hate this and want to install windows 7 instead, but want a backup of my factory settings as I paid for it.

Thanks.

That is exactly what has been done by Lenovo. A copy of the OS is placed at a hidden partition in your hdd. Read the userguide of your unit.

Re: Physical Recovery Media

I'll be calling their support/customer service this weekend and giving them 2 options, initiate a return or send me a windows 7 disc.

Its your decision. They might be willing to provide with the disk but they will charge you.
