my memory is not that strong, but it can be said that "since first call to Lenovo Turkey about virtualization issue".

 

I was about to try Andy's solution, however would Lenovo Turkey support if i modified bios with an unoffical BIOS update? They even doesn't give warranty for faulty battery.

 

And i replied your pm, thanks for thoughts about it. I already had my own students, so i couldn't provide training to Sales people of store Smiley Happy

andy's offer is not official solution, use it on your own risk.

how about contacting vatan computer? as i know, they should ship your your laptop back to lenovo, not you.

Lenovo offers free pickup, why would i ship my laptop to Vatan Computer's service? My time is valuable. I'm trying to solve things, not to make them complicated. Lenovo Turkey told me that "they won't accept the free replacement of battery" so would it make any difference if Vatan Comp. would send the product in place of me? I believe it wouldn't. Trust me i read many compliants about services of brands. I had to wait almost two months for a replacement of faulty Power Supply. I even added "my diagnostic reports to help them troubleshoot" before sending the package. However, they told me that "we will run our own diagnostics". And it took almost two months to get a healthy product in return. Guess what, i had to purchase another power supply for backup. Because i need to use my pc. I know different policies apply for different countries. Currently, i checked user manual of Y550. In first pages, it is mentioning about how capacity of hard disks identified by Lenovo and hard disk manufacturers. Lenovo could also place a note about virtualization in these areas, so i could have known the problem immediately after opening my box. Well let's hear what "Mark" will say. Since it will break the warranty, i will certainly won't use a workaround that is unofficial.
