Question about Intel Optane Memory and Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P

In your opinion, does the Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P support Intel Optane Memory?

Thanks and happy new year.

Re: Question about Intel Optane Memory and Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P

Intel Optane only works with processors 7th generation or later; the Y510P has a 4th gen Intel processor.

So no, Intel Optane won't work with the Y510P.

If you want faster speeds though, you can upgrade your HDD to an SSD if you haven't done that already. Let me know if you need help with that.

Hope that helps and happy new year to you too!

Re: Question about Intel Optane Memory and Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P

No, there's no M.2 slot available for storage in the Y510P.

If you want to upgrade to an SSD, you can swap your current HDD with an SSD, like this one: https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ideapad-y510p/CT11177880

You'll also need to clone your current HDD to that SSD, guide here: https://www.easeus.com/backup-utility/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-disk-without-reinstalling-wind...

Hope that helps and Happy New Year!
