Re: Ram Upgrade For Lenovo Z580

Hi nycnayeem ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As per product specification on genral model for RAM :

8GB max7 ; PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3*, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets
* System automatically clocks down for processors with 1333MHz DDR3 memory controller

Based from the FRU list of the hardware manual, recommended parts tested (item12 page87-88).

As same specification as listed from crucial , you can check specifically on what you have currently from the sticker of the stock RAM to match and check compatibility,

Similar to your query on these discusions, here and here that can also help since ram specification may also depend on current CPU and chipset. It would help if you have the machine model number from the sticker of the laptop or get it here (just keep the SN confidential).

Update us how it goes .

Regards
