I am unable to get Rapid Drive to properly install on my system. Please help me understand what I need to do to get it working. Your help is much appreciated. I have tried searching this topic but the document that purportedly contains instructions on fixing the problem (http://22.214.171.124/pub/RapidDrive.pdf) is no longer a live link.
Background: I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y580 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition. I recently experienced a hard drive failure. Both my 32-GB SSD and 750-GB HDD were replaced with new drives. A computer repair place installed the drives for me and also installed Windows 7 for me. The OS is installed on the SSD. However, none of the Lenovo features like Rapid Drive, One Key Recovery, and so forth were put back on the system.
The SSD (C: drive) and HDD (D: drive) currently are separate (screenshot below).
I have downloaded the Rapid Drive files from Lenovo's site (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/3448) and they are installed in the Drivers folder of my C: drive as they are supposed to be. When I run setup, the wizard tells me it completes successfully, and yet there appear to be no changes to the hard drives. The screenshot above was taken after I had run Rapid Drive installation. When I view my hard drives in Windows Explorer, I still see separate C: and D: drives as before.
What should I do to get Rapid Drive to function on my computer? Thank you for your help.
