Replace Z510 optical drive for an SSD

Hello everyone,

I own a Lenovo z510 i7 40702MQ, and I am planning to replace the optical drive for an SSD. I would like to know if my warranty will void if I do this. The laptop is was bought in Spain.

I am not aware of this laptop but how do you put an SSD in an optical drive slot?

Re: Replace Z510 optical drive for an SSD

eBay seems to sell a compatible caddy:

It doesn't look like the optical drive is a Customer Replaceable Unit, but you can always put the optical drive back before sending it for warranty. As long as you do the replacement carefully, I don't think it'll be a problem.
