Replacing Optical Drive

So if I want to replace the dvd drive on a y570 with one of the following blu-ray drives is there any reason why they wouldn't work?

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-UJ240-Blu-ray-Burner-DVD%C2%B1RW/dp/B003AXW2YQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qi...

http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-CT10N-Blu-Ray-Combo/dp/B001TOD5E4/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I just want to make sure before I purchase something.

Re: Replacing Optical Drive

Those drives are probably not going to fit properly because of the drive bezel.

Look at yours.  It has a bend in the middle and it's molded to fit with the lines of the laptop.   Those don't.

Lenovo did make a higher version of the Y570 with a blu-ray drive in it.  My suggestion would be to call service and see if it is available from them.  At least have them give you the part number for it.

My guess is it's going to be too new of a product for it to show up in any parts supply houses yet.
