I have lenovo Y510P (without SLI). I want to remove 1TB HDD and replace with Samsung SSD 840 EVO 256GB. Does it work fine with it? I have no problem with recovery or anything.
I just want to sure that it is fully compatible.

The Y510P does not use that drive interface. You need one of these.
Or something like this.
The Y510P uses a M.2 2242 format. AData has just released a new 256 GB size. Here are some pics. This socket and the original drive you were looking at are not compatible.
Edit - I just remembered that not all Y510P motherboards have the M.2 2242 connector. You would need to remove the back to make sure that this socket is on your motherboard. Here's some background info about this issue.

Yes. I installed a Samsung 850 Pro on my y510p, and it works fine. You will just have to remove the 1TB SSHD and replace it with the SSD. Both use the same SATA 3 (6 Gb/s) interface
