Sleep with power adapter connected and Desktop Navigator

2009-09-18, 15:14 PM

When my Y550 is on battery and it goes into sleep mode only power leds blink, but when it is on power adapter it looks like only lcd is turned off. Windows settings are correct. Is it possible to make Y550 go into S3 sleep both on battery and AC?

Second question: is it possible to run Desktop Navigator on Windows 7? I installed driver and app but the bar doesn't show...

1) use Energy Management to manage screen/S3 modes.

2) Try installing it in WinXP SP3 compatibility. Or just wait until Win7 correct version comes up.

Unfortunately only Win7 has powercfg commandline options that can tell which device prevented laptop entering S3. Vista isnot capable of that... Sorry, maybe anyone else can tell how to find this out, I can't really help here...
