Strange problem with Dolby Digital Live

I've connected my Y500 to a reciever with a TOSLINK cable. With DDL enable sound works perfect with most games and while playing sound from Internet Explorer. But when playing audio from Google Chrome sound only comes from the sub.

What might be the cause of this?

Re: Strange problem with Dolby Digital Live

Make sure that the Chrome is using the latest Flash Player plug-in.  Adobe just released a newer version of Flash Player the other day.

Re: Strange problem with Dolby Digital Live

A couple of more suggestions......

In the plug-in listing is there more than one Flash Player listed ?  If so, delete one, preferably the one with the oldest version number.

Have you tried uninstalling Chrome completely and then install a fresh copy ?

Re: Strange problem with Dolby Digital Live

I did some searching around regarding sound problems with Chrome.  One recommendation was to check the sound mixer to see how that is set when Chrome is active. Also check to see if your model has a Audio Control panel and if the equalization changes when Chrome is used.  Sorry, I'm not an owner of your model so I can pin point a better location in which to check those settings.

Re: Strange problem with Dolby Digital Live

Sorry to hear that nothing has worked thus far.  My only other suggestion I have at this point is try posting your problem over in the Google Chrome forum.  Possibly someone else has run across this problem before and knows of a fix.
