Surfing with P400 (Z400)?

2014-03-16, 0:32 AM

Hi, just received P400, with i5 / 500GB and Win 8.....How do I go about getting on the net?  Puzzled!  My previous laptop, a HP, with Win XP.

Hi smilinjohn,

thanks posting. I was wondering though currently, are you connected to the internet and and when you click on the browser is anything displayed?

Nine, thanks for responding.  Somehow, my "Yahoo home page" appeared, upon opening up my browser.  I had been there before, but only Yahoo Email was viewable.  Now my problem is to get "Favorites" back, as it has gone missing.  I've been building "Favorites" list for several years, so feel somewhat lost without, yet "Favorites" was still viewable yesterday afternoon on my Win XP unit.

Struggling with this new P400.  Most reviews had found fault with it, but I find it mostly okay.  I'm hoping to locate some magic button to adjust the point size and boldness of the read-only text.

Nine, I initiated the post on my Win XP unit......that's how it appears that I was already on the internet, upon you asking your puzzled question.

Hi smilinjohn,

thanks for posting back. I was wondering though, which web browser do you have on on the P400?

Hi, Nine!

MS Explorer to open Yahoo.com.  It's here where I don't know how to add in "Favorites" to Yahoo.

Hi smilinjohn,

thanks for posting back. TO be honest I too have not actually tried to add favourites to yahoo. But if you looking to add favourites to the Internet explorer there are 2 ways of doing this. If you're opening Internet explorer from the windows 8 Tile, use the function "Ctrl+C or Ctrl+D". If you're opening Internet Explorer through the desktop mode, just use "Ctrl+D". You'll be able to get the favorites option there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, NINE.  I'm back on track, now.  I purchased "The How-To Geek Guide to Windows 8" (in color and 1,073 page tutorial).  I'm just in the beginning chapters, so yet don't know if I recommend or not.  So far, I'm learning how to navigate around in Win 8.
