I have this issue for some time right now. When I`m playing a game it`s all fina no fps drop no overheating (I think). Yet after quiting the game I try to shut down my Y580 (Core i5, 8GB RAM, GTX660M). I get the information that system is shutting down and then the screen is getting black but the power button is lightened (like it`s on) and I can hear the cooling working. Nothing else.
I left the computer for 3-4 hours and it did`nt shut down. So I unpluged the A/C and after the battery was out it finally shut down.
Any ideas what could happen? The game I`m playing is EvE Online.
Thank you guys in advance for advise!

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Do you have any additional peripherals connected to the PC (i.e. flashdrive, printer, etc.) ? If you do, can you try to unplug these devices and try to turn the computer off. If the problem persist, try to perform a clean boot and test (doing a clean boot isolate the case if it's a third party program that's causing the issue).
Also, if you have an HDD caddy, check this article as it maybe similar to your situation.
Hope this helps

Hmmmmm I only have mouse plugged in (Microsoft 4000), and I do not have any additional hard drives. So, I`ll update you once I tried the clean boot.

It could be a sign of incompatible Nvidia graphics drivers if this only happens when you play 3D games. Try updating or rolling back your drivers and see if the issue still persists.
