I'm having some thermal issues with my Y50-70 and am looking to replace the thermal paste and pads. Does anyone know the thickness of the replacement thermal pads I would need? I'm guessing 1 mm thermal pads but I might be wrong.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
I would recommend only thermal paste, this is from personal experience, it seems to do the job better than any thermal pad.
You can find many video on how to apply paste, for example, this video compares different techniques and covers if one is better than another:
(Spoiler, technique doesn`t really matter as long as the correct amount is used properly) But still, it gives you a few good ideas of the amount and techniques you could use.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

I have same problem, I bought 1,5mm but it too thick, I almost baked my Nvidia GPU, because the heatsink not sit on Nvidia GPU. Now I have to buy thinner thermal pad, but 1mm or 0,5mm will better?

So I tried 1 mm, but it was still too thick, I almost burned my Nvidia GPU. So I tried now 0,5 mm and it's better, but maybe I see some gaps between heatsink and the thermal pads. So Lenovo using something betwwen 0,5 and 1 mm thickness of thermal pads.
I don't know where to buy this thickness, because in my country (Czech Republic) I have only Arctic Cooling company and they have only 0,5 and 1 mm thick pads.
