Unknown Device - Y730

2009-04-23, 17:23 PM

When I go into Device manager I have an unknow device.  Microsoft ACPI Compliant Embedded Controller

If I go to Details it says:

ACPI\VPC2004

*VPC2004

If anyone knows where to get this driver(VISTA) I would appreciate it.

You should install ACPI driver and EnergyCUt (Energy Management) software.

Energy Management is installed (according to programs and features).  Whats weird is I downloaded it from lenovo and when I go to install again it says its trying to install an older version.  It says setup has detected that version 3.02.000 of Energy Management is already installed.  This setup installs an eariler version of Energy Management (3.1.5.3)

Where do I get the ACPI driver.  Do you have link because I do not see it on lenovo's website.

Thanks.

It also can be remote CIR (remote controller) , Halo Lightning or Second Display controller. Also try Energy Cut version that is on same page as others driversI mentioned.

Try here.

Halo Lighting, second Display controller are both on.  I'll try the remote controller driver,  What is that for?

I appreciate the quick respones and help.

You also should try Y530 ACPI driver and ATK hotkey driver for Y530.

Wait, which version of Vista do you have? 32bit or 64? If 64 - try Y650 drivers.

That's extremely strange...

Uninstall EnergyCut and get one from Y510 - though it is old it might help.

Your device is definately what EnergyCut installs.
