Upgrade to Intel wifi/bluetooth card on Z575

2013-05-08, 6:56 AM

Just wondering if anyone knew if this is possible to do and if there are any problems I will run into.

Upgrade from Atheros AR5B95 wireless card to an Intel 6235 wireless/bluetooth card.

I am running windows 7.

AMD A8-3520M

Thanks!

No.

Leonovo White Lists the Wireless cards in the BIOS. The only cards that you can "upgrade" to, is one that has their "FRU" stamped on it. If you want to use any other wireless card, you would have to use a modded BIOS.

According to the Z575 HMM:

Thanks DragonRider will try to mod the BIOS myself or attempt to find a better card that is compatible with Lenovo's White List.
