That's a screenshot from the systems page. I think having my computer recognized as anything but Lenovo affects whether or not Veriface works on this laptop. Can anyone help me rectify this?

Yes, you're right. Recognising system as non-Lenovo causes Veriface, Shuttle Centre, Power2go and Easy Capture to stop as they're deighned specially for Lenovo.
If you customised your Vista install which caused that - advise you not to activate it by popular activators in internet, but to use your license key at the bottom of laptop and register Vista properly in MicroSoft.
For now try NOVA recovery. Turn laptop off and then turn it on by pressing NOVA button.
