Will Lenovo Y500 recognize brand-new mSATA SSD to use for caching?

Can some one explain to me the process of installing a brand-new 60GB mSATA SSD into the Y500 to use for caching for the stock 1TB HDD. Intending to use Intel Smart Response Technology. The SSD I'm considering is the Intel 525 mSATA SSD.

Preferably some one who has done this before.

Thank you.

Re: Will Lenovo Y500 recognize brand-new mSATA SSD to use for caching?

Well I should have read more about this.

I just got my msata ssd. installed it in my y500. I looks like caching is not functional.

I am not able to set my sata controller to RAID.

Intel Rapid Storage does not work. Accelerate function not enabled.

Tried installing express cache. When running cmd.exe and running express cache info i get nothing.

So looks like a waste of time and money again with lenovo.
