Re: Will installing new ssd void warranty?

You might like to post which Lenovo system you have in order to receive an accurate answer; on most systems no it will not void the warranty unless damage is caused to the system by the SSD or when installing it into the system. On some systems yes it may void the warranty.

The SSD will not be covered by the warranty in both cases unless it is purchased as an authorised option from Lenovo.

Re: Will installing new ssd void warranty?

I replaced the HDD with an SDD and did not see any seals or anything when I opened up the laptop that would VOID warranty.  I kept the original HDD as is with the shipped OS .  I figured if there are any issues that would need a warranty repair I would swap out the SSD with the original HDD and then send it back to Lenovo.

Re: Will installing new ssd void warranty?

According to the Maintenance Manual the hard drive is not a CRU, (Customer Replaceable Unit), which indicates the customer is not allowed to exchange the item, hoever I would probably do as davidteyuwang suggests above.

Disclaimer; I don't work for Lenovo.
