Been trying in vain to find a wirless AC card that's whitelisted on this laptop.
Serial Number: **********
This is actually the second ideapad we have. Tried to take the dual band wifi card from our older one and put it in this laptop, but when we do it says it's unauthorized.
That wifi card was an intel dual band AC 7260
How does this wifi card work in one ideapad, but not the other? What AC card will work in this laptop?
Moderator note: serial number removed to prevent abuse.

@malvin_lenovo Just so I can be sure, this card you linked does support 5ghz? Because the card itself does not say AC on it. It says N.
The card that came with this machine is an Intel wireless N 7260 04X6011 fru 20200556 and it doesnt support 5ghz, so I would like to be sure the one you recommended will do the job.
Also doesnt explain why the one we tried to put in did not work, as both ideapads are z710 but it only works in the older one, unless only some z710s support that card.

Thanks for replying.
We can oly guarantee that the OEM parts on the Hardware Maintenance Manual would work.
According to page 73 of the Hardware Manual, wireless AC is not listed as FRU parts. If it's not in the list, it will not be detected in BIOS.
The N 7260 should work for this model.

@malvin_lenovo I'm not really understanding how getting another wireless N card is going to help matters here. There's already a wireless N card in this laptop, but despite what sources seem to say, the N is not picing up the 5ghz band from the router. We need to be able to connect to the 5ghz band, as the 2.4ghz is too busy and easily expereinces interruptions.
The other laptop we own, of the same model, came with an AC card and works fine. Why is the whitelist in the bios different between computers of the same model?
At this rate, if you can't provide us with a working 5ghz card, we may be left with no choice but to try and flash the bios.
