Just got a Z710 with 16GB of RAM and an nVidia GeForce GT 745M video card. It was manufactured 14/8/8.
But Windows 8.1 complains on every boot the "The connected power adapter cannot supply enough power. Use of this power adapter may lower system performance".
No one will do anything with this except let me return it. But Lenovo packaged the wrong power adapter so it is unlikely a new package will have the correct power.
Why wasn't a power adapter included that would actually power this laptop? That is utterly ridiculous!
Can anyone tell me which power adapter is the right one for this unit?
Upon further digging it seems the supplied power adapter is 90W. An nVidia 745M requires 25W - 30W so a 135W power adapter appears to be enough. But does this Z710 have a UL-SDC power tip or a "Slim" tip?

My issue was resolved by the 3rd-party seller. I made the purchase through a NewEgg partner, Antonline.com, who sent a 130W (20V 6.5 amp) power adapter at no cost. It just took a little while to work it out.
Overall I like this Lenovo hardware. But doing business with Lenovo is painful. Used NewEgg because Lenovo dropped the ball on a direct order.

Thanks for the info.
I actually had the opposite experience. Lenovo responded quickly and despite a short back order situation, I had the bigger power supply in 5 days. Sadly my retailer admitted to knowing about the issue but wasn't interested in helping get a replacement part for me.

I just called Lenovo with the same problem, they answered right away and are sending me the correct 135 w power supply. Very impressed with their customer support.

Did that and was told to go to 3rd-party. Did that and, although it took a little while, they came through. Lenovo wouldn't help.
But that's after an order Lenovo cancelled after waiting 3 weeks to tell me they didn't have any and weren't making them anymore - but these are a new line.

I have an isssue with my battery , I have the Z710 however reading this could it be the power adapter , mine is
Input 100-240v-1.5A 50-60Hz
Output 20V= 6.75A
I have contacted Lenovo reagarding the battery and they want me to send the battery i have back for testing , this machine is 2 months old and didn't get used intil 2nd 3 rd week in Jan as i was to ill to use it , it lasts for 1 hour 50 and is not right , i live in France the machine was bought in John Lewis in England my son and daughter bought it for me for my xmas and birthday present , they even said the battery life is really good Ha !! don't think so not mine anyway.
You would think that Lenovo would just send a new battery out to me here in France .
The customer service is lacking something , customers are what count that is how they get the sales by customers saying how impressed they are , well i don't feel like that at the moment .
If someone can let me know if the power adapter is correct for my laptop
