Y400 - GPU not working, can it be replaced or is it part of the Mobo?

As stated in the title, I have a y400 laptop that had the gpu finally fail on me after a while. I was wondering if the card is part of the motherboard, or if it can be replaced on it's own. I saw a post somewhere that it was part of the motherboard, but i've also seen posts on ebay of the card showing it seperately from the board. Is it just that the gpu is technically seperate, it's just hard to replace? Thanks in advance.

Sorry mate, but it's part of the motherboard. The y400 used a soldered on 650/750m. There's no MXM option for easy removal, such as with the CPU. You'd either need a new motherboard, or better yet another laptop.

Thanks for the reply, it looks like a used one for a decent price, so I'll probably pick one up.
