Y400 - New SSD not recognized

Hi All,

I just purchased and physically installed a new PNY XLR8 SSD to replace the existing HDD that came with my Y400 setup.  The plan was to install a fresh copy of Win8 Pro once everything came up, but unfortunitly the new drive is not being recognized.

I have tried changing some bios options from AHCI to compatable and turning off/on the secure boot and have had no luck.

The current bios is V1.04

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You may have to uninstall the 16 Gb cache ssd. Does the PNY SSD shown in the bios?

Re: Y400 - New SSD not recognized

The PNY isn't actually showing up at all.

All the boot menu shows is an option for either LAN IPv4 or IPv6.

When you say 16Gb cache SSD, are you talking about the mSATA slot?  Doesn't appear that my system had anything installed there.

Forgot to add-

I just tested the PNY in my HP Proliant/FreeNAS setup and it seems to work with no issues
