Y410 Wireless Issues

Hello,

I purchased the Y410P in July 2013. I'm running Windows 8, 64-bit OS. I haven't used it much until recently. It's a gaming laptop and I can't even do anything because the wireless is so unstable. I think it disconnects if I try opening multiple tabs which is frustrating. I put my old ASUS through the same use and it's perfect.

Are there any updates to fix this?

Thanks

Zo

Re: Y410 Wireless Issues

Hi Zo thanks for posting, and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear about the issues you're facing but i was wondering though, which type of wireless card, do you have installed in your machine?

Another thing though does the wireless drop frequently happen when you're connected to the the AC or while on battery only?

Hope to hear back.

Regards

Re: Y410 Wireless Issues

Hello,

I have an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230.

The wireless cuts out while connected to the AC. I can't recall if it happens during battery only.

Thanks,

Zo

You can try updating the wifi driver to version 16.1.5 from Intel's website (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23169).

Re: Y410 Wireless Issues

Hi zodin,

Could you try this method out. It has helped some of our customers. Please do post back your results.

1. Get downloaded Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 8 (64-bit) Version: 15.8.0.5
Click on:
http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/downloads/default.page?

Click on: Select Product
Than write on the search bar: Y510P
Click on: Ideapad Y510p Notebook
Search Networking: Wireless Lan in Category
Search Operating System: Windows 8

Hints (When I tried to download the driver on my computer, I put the driver on break when the Internet slips, and restores driver in the I connect to my internet back, I made it up to 4 times.)

2. Before you install it, you must delete the current folder
Click on the Win + R
And paste: C: \ drivers
And delete the folder called: Intel WLAN Driver

3. Install the driver that you downloaded before

4. Restart Windows

5. Upgrade your new driver
Click on the Win + R
And paste c: \ drivers \ Intel WLAN Driver
And open prog frame: Autorun
Then press: Upgrade
