Y430 CPU Upgrade + Memory

Hi, I just ordered a P8800 to upgrade from my T3200 CPU on my Y430.  I have 4GB DDR2 667mhz memory in there.  Would 667 to 800mhz memory make that much of a difference?  Also will this make a difference in gaming?

Thanks

of course it will have a little bit of difference. but if you're up to gaming... your machine should have a discreet graphics card for you to enjoy real time gaming....

Re: Y430 CPU Upgrade + Memory

i have to say that after install Windows 7 my FPS went up a bit.  As well as being able to run on medium graphics vs low (Battlefield 2, STALKER, etc.).  But I was also wondering if having the 667mhz memory would it make much of a difference upgrading to 800mhz?  I do some video editing and Photoshop so any extra power would help.

The P8800 is 2.6 Core 2 Duo with 3MB L2 and 1066mhz FSB

The T3200 is 2.0 Pentium Dual Core with 1MB L2 and 667mhz FSB

Re: Y430 CPU Upgrade + Memory

Well I installed the P8800 and wow what a difference.  Everything is much more snappier.  I encoded an MKV video to burn to DVD with the T3200.  It encoded at 52-55 fps.  With the P8800 the same file encoded at 82-88 fps.  Plus my Windows 7 Index for CPU and Memory went from 5.1 to 6.2.
