Y450 problem. Help!

2011-02-05, 15:16 PM

My ideapad Y450 was on for 7hrs and when I was watching videos, it turned off by itself. I checked my ac cable and tried to turn it on again but it wouldn't. I changed plug and tried to turn it on. The lenovo screen came out and after 2 secs, the screen had vertical thick white stripes and a siren type of sound. Terrified, I switched off the main switch. Tried to power it on again, it got to the lenovo starting part then start to flicker and powered off itself. After that I tried switching on again, only the ideapad word the the right near the arm rest lited up. When I plugged the battery in, it was charging it but when i switched the cable off, the keyboard started flickering with lights. Now it wouldn't turn on at all. Anyone had similar experience? IdeapadY450 running on windows 7

when you see lenovo logo, press f8 to load safe mode.

if it works, possible driver issue, performing clean windows installation may help you.

otherwise, could be ram or graphic card issue.

try to remove/replace or sway your ram sticks, if you have more than one, just try one of them.
