Y480 battery life

Hi,

I recently got my hands on my Y480, and i got confusion/questions about the battery life.

Because i am using a laptop for the first time i really dont know what to do.

So i found "Lenovo Energy Management" and switched to "Battery Protection Mode"

Because i am usually playing games like DOTA-2 and CoD-MW3, and the management program says "60% plugged in, not charging" and i keep on playing games.

when i am not playing games i am surfing the internet or watching movies ( not plugged in .... on battery ) and i let the battery to drain unless there is a pop up asking me to pluggin power.

So am i doing it just fine ??? or i am going to ruin the battery in  like 6 months ??

Because people say "battery should be fully charged and dischaged" and "there are battery cycles, they should be completed"

Regards

Tauseef

Re: Y480 battery life

Hi Tauseef,

you are doing it just fine, but no harm done keeping AC plugged in all the time,

please see this 'Optimize Battery' article...
