Y50 70 BIOS Can't Save Settings Or Exit

2017-03-10, 16:39 PM

Hello dear members,

Today I tried to set the BIOS to boot from USB, but it appears that I have some problems, the BIOS doesn't save the settings, when I press Enter on Exit Saving Changes or Exit Discarding Changes, the BIOS freezes up and the computer blocks. What should I do? I can't change nothing in the BIOS. When I press the power button the Windows is loading correctly.

Please advise.

BIOS 3.03, Y50 70, Core i5 4210H, 8GB RAM, 860M 4 GB

Thank you

Hi carneiro ,

Greetings.

Check if the time are updated to current to isolate saving issues.

Under configuration tab, enable always on USB , security tab with secure boot disabled , boot mode to legacy and USB boot enabled , on exit tab OS optimized set to other then save and exit .

Check if you are able to boot to USB with this setting.

Update us how things go.

Regards

Hi, Spidey,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately when I change the settings you told about, it still freezes on exit. Time is current.

Boot manager (F12) is freezing as well, when I change to USB ot to HDD Legacy, when I hit Enter, the computer blocks.

The OS is loading normally but BIOS isn't operational. No matter what I change ot do, when I hit F10 or one of the Exit options it freezes.

Please advise,

Thanks you!

I am trying to install the BIOS to solve the issue. Current version is 3.03, I am trying to install again 3.03, but the program says it is the same version and closes itself? How can I overpass it? Thanks

Hi carneiro ,

Greetings.

On a similar thread , BIOS backflashing worked for some users .

Configuration tab for BIOS Back Flash set to enabled .

Take time to read though the guidelines (readme.txt) and thread as BIOS change may pose risk be that an update or a rollback.

Regards

Here is the solution:

Step 1: Extract the BIOS file (9ecn43ww.exe) using WinRAR or 7zip Link: lnv.gy/2mAgrlN Step 2: Locate the extracted files and open the platform.ini file in notepad Step 3: Edit the following settings in the platform.ini file and save it [Bios_Version_Check] flag=0 Step 4:. Connect the AC adapter and run the InsydeFlash.exe file as administrator

It may help others with similar issue.

Regards

Hi,

I have similar problem after upgrade bios to v 3.03, but in my case only date can be saved and changed, everything else is not, also in boot option I have disk name which is no longer connected to laptop.
I tried to downgrade / reinstall bios but it refused to flash again (dont show flash screen after reboot).

Someone had similar problem, if so then have You find any solution for that?
