Y50-70 Keyboard Issue

After a couple days after my computer being off, I turned it on as usual and keyboard was unresponsive. I troubleshot my laptop by uninstalling the keyboard driver and restarting the laptop with no success. I reset the computer to factory settings and nothing as well as updating the computer and keyboard driver. I'm able to type with an external keyboard. The mouse pad still works and that's pretty much it. The blacklight still flashes every time I turn on the laptop. I've had this laptop for about 1 year and 1/2 with minimal to moderate use. If anyone has a solution or any suggestions on fixing this problem, I gladly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi there, Cypher –

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Did you check in safe mode if issue persist or not?

Also, Please remove uninstall the keyboard from device manager and restart pc. Let us know the result.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Y50-70 Keyboard Issue

Hello. Thanks for the suggestion. I attemped your suggestion and issue remains the same. I forgot to mention that the letter "d', "j", and sometimes "k" are the only ones that can be typed.

Re: Y50-70 Keyboard Issue

Try the following:

1: Remove the AC adapter plug.

2: Remove the battery.

3: Press the power button for about 30 seconds. This will clear the capacitors.

4: Insert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

5: Press the power button.

Update us how it goes.
