So I've had this Y50-70 for exactly a year. It's ran relatively fine until this week when it randomly shut off while running a game. I can't tell if it was still running on battery or not but now it won't turn on no matter what. When the charger is plugged into the laptop it makes a faint and continuous peeping sound. It also does it with a new replacement charger I bought. I tried hard resetting the laptop and there was no response. I've tried removing the battery to see if it could run off plug-in mode alone but it still doesn't respond. Nothing inside the laptop appears to be out of the ordinary. I do notice that when the charger is plugged in the side where the input is still becomes faintly warm. Any ideas?

Hi, Lunasea –
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
Motherboard failure is usually conveyed by one beep, followed by three, four or five. Four beeps, followed by two, three or four beeps indicate serial or parallel port issues, which also implies a damaged motherboard.
Either you call Technical Support to have them repair the unit in / out of warranty repair OR Ask them where to get the part for it and have the motherboard replaced.
Update us how it goes
