I bought the computer last year in November. It was a great laptop and I sure liked it. However a problem occured and my computer won't even start up. Here are some symptons:
1. When connected to power, the fan will keep working. Pressing the power button can not start the computer.
2. Once the power cable is detached, the fan stops working. By holding the power button, the fan will be working as long as the power button is held.
3. By pressing the power button, I can clearly hear a "beep" sound comming from the speaker.
That's all I have now, hope I can get some help from here. I have my classwork stored in this laptop and I don't wish to send it to repair, unless I have to.

Are you at least able to see the Lenovo logo on screen or the screen won't even turn on?
If the screen won't turn on the only way to solve this that i can think of is restoring the laptop back to its factory settings, but your Hard Drive will be wiped though.
In order to do this, try turning on your laptop using the One Key Recovery key (the small button on the left of the power button) by holding down the One Key Recovery key until the system boots up (it should take around 5 seconds). Now you may choose Restore to factory settings from the screen and proceed for the restoration.
If your laptop still won't turn on, i would say that your motherboard is not working anymore, therefore you need to get it replaced, or to get the motherboard drivers flashed again.

. Hi TangoZulu,
You need to perform the power drain, as in this model the battery cannot be removed without removing the base cover. If the system is in warranty and if the base cover is removed then the warranty will be void, hence request you to visit the nearest service center for further details.
