I have a problem with WiFi on my Lenovo Y50-70 type 20378.
The first issue is the strength of the signal. I'm 2 meters away from my router without any walls in the way and the signal is very weak. On the other hand, on my phone the WiFi signal is full and the phone is in the same place as the notebook.
The second issue is the speed. When I check the speed on the www.speedtest.net website I get about 13 Mbps but when I use the cable the speed is 72 Mbps. When I check it on the phone the speed is also about 72+ Mbps.
The third issue in connectivity, on all the devices the WiFi is working and my notebook shows connected but no internet connection. Or sometimes when I try to connect to my WiFi it says that "Could not connect to network". Or sometimes in the Network and Internet, when I'm trying to connect, the WiFi adapter just disappears for couple of seconds and nothing happens. And the last thing, sometimes my WiFi network isn't visible at all, but on the other devices at the same time everything is fine.
I have tried different drivers, changing setting in my router and notebook and nothing happens. Maybe you could help me out.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
Try to download the WiFi and Chipset drivers for the unit from the support page. Make sure to reboot after an update on the unit.
If you have had a recent Windows update, then I would recommend that you revert back to the previous Windows update, and see if the issue persits.
If that does not help, then perform a factory reset, this will rule out any software related issues.
If the issue stays, then it will be a hardware issue, in which case, please get in touch with your local Lenovo support line for a possible repair on the unit.
Below is the link to the phone list where you can find these numbers
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

I've done some tests and here are my findings:
It's not hardware related. I've tried using a live Linux from a USB and the WiFi was working fine.
I've done a one-touch recovery, which restored my laptop back to Windows 8.1.
In Windows 8.1 the WiFi is also working fine.
As I understand the issue is with the Windows 10 WLAN drivers.
I've tried the ones from the Lenovo Website - didn't make any difference.
I've tried some programs that look up drivers - same result.
The only new thing that I've noticed is that, when trying connecting to the WiFi, the network adapter just disables itself and quickly re-enables itself.
I've checked the settings in the Device Management and the box that allows Windows to disable the adapter was unticked.
Maybe you could advise a particular driver version that works with the Qualcomm Atheros AR956x Wireless Network Adapter on Windows 10 64bit?
