Hello folks,
I seem to be having some issue with installing Windows 10. I found the Lenovo Upgrade Checklist and followed the steps point for point. (https://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/solutions/ht104203)
After downloading the update, it requested a restart and booted up into the update screen. The update got to around 20% and restarted as noted on the update screen. Once again I'm presented with the Lenovo boot screen but this time it doesn't seem to be progressing, nothing has changed for the last 50 minutes and counting.
What was other people's experience through the upgrade? Should I be prepared for a longer wait or is this abnormal to the process?
Thanks for taking the time to read!

If nothing happen there are high chance that your Laptop is brick from OS update (that is why they say to back-up any data on PC before doing the update). For reason, there are many. That is why not all Laptop getting the same error.
For quick fix, you can just format and install Windows 10. But all data will be gone. If you have back-up or not mind about your data, this is the best choice. As most people complain about Windows 10 that updated from previous windows version have a lot of bug and performance issue.

Or you can try to re-install Windows 10 by making a bootable usb drive.
you can try making a recovery drive and launc startup repair.

I have done the in place upgrade on 4 of my systems. Two are lenovo notebooks all were from Win 8.1 64bit but the T520 which was still on Window 7 64bit (unsupported by Lenovo for updating in their list). The T520 still went surprisely good. In all cases typically driver updates and other files available were done after but all were working upon completion. The other two were old Tower Intel based system w/4GB Ram. My friends did their's the same without incident as well. It does work and were up to date with MS Updates prior to doing it.
A backup to an external HD is key with stand alone software and not this crap Lenovo puts on won't run for most when they need it. I used Backupper Standard and have a startup CD if i need to recover from start to restore. The Anniversary updates when well except for one tower it took a full 2 days to complete.
The OP gives little info on what he did or doing. He may have to do the clean install but it won't activate if this update did not complete as there is no key to enter.
