Y50 Low Battery Life

Hello,

I just recently upgraded to Windows 10. I found that battery life decreased quite a bit. With 50% running at power save mode, I have around 50-60min of battery life remaining. I also found that switching between different power modes doesn't increase or decrease battery estimation as it used to. Any one else have problems with this?

I've also tried downloading the latest Windows 10 Power Management driver but it runs the .exe and nothing happens. Has any one tried this as well?

Thanks.

Re: Y50 Low Battery Life

Hi Sogat,

When you run the .exe, it exacts the files into c:/ volume.
After, you may also need to start actually installation. Please, try this suggestion first and post back the results after

Re: Y50 Low Battery Life

I see an Install Windows Command Script. I run it and nothing happens. Is the directory "C:\drivers\Energy_Manager_and_Flight_Mode_Driver"?

Re: Y50 Low Battery Life

Try to locate install.exe or setup.exe (make sure you right click and run via admin)

Re: Y50 Low Battery Life

It's probably installed already but what you need to do is to update it,
You can check it via Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

Re: Y50 Low Battery Life

If it was working properly before the upgrade, it's most likely software issue. Please, try this: un-install the Windows 10 update and check if the battery works fine. If it's working fine, un-install the Power Management drivers and re-install Win 10. After the installation, you can try to install the Power Management drivers for Win 10

Re: Y50 Low Battery Life

I suspect it was fine after upgrade. Could it be that the battery life deteriorated? I had the laptop for 1 year.
