Y500 Ideapad USB ports not working after a Windows update

Hello, folks!

I installed and update from Windows 10 Build 1803 to 1903 around a week ago. I noticed that my USB ports would keep telling me error messages that they didn't make before, such as not recognizing a USB device or complaining about a power surge. After doing some resets and further updates, the problem is there again, but for a different reason.

Apparently, my USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller won't start, even though I didn't tamper with my hardware. Here's a screenshot I took of it in the Device Manager, displaying an error code 10:

Does anyone here know how I can solve this problem? The Windows 10 build I currently have installed is 18362.267.

I'm not sure if you can go ahead and install W10 on your laptop, as updating to a completely different generation has been known to be potentially problematic. Maybe you can ask someone for advice? I'm not to good for that.

Also, the link you put up leads to a 404 error. Did you paste the correct link?

Anyway, thank you for the advice, but I need to know how to fix my USB ports. I tried updating my USB xHCI driver to the one provided by Intel instead of Microsoft by downloading it from the site and installing it via Device Manager, and the yellow mark disappeared along with new port drivers showing up. But, after restarting, Windows didn't read it and rejected the driver, resulting in the error code being changed to 37 instead of 10. Even after I reinstalled the Microsoft version of the driver, the error code 37 still remained. I think I might've messed up bad.

HOLY SMOKES THE FIRST LINK ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING.

All of the ports are back! They still have an error, but holy smokes, you're a life saver. Thanl you so much. Now i just need to get rid of the error code 43.
