Hey guys I'm hoping for some help on this one, since i can't seem to figure out what exactly is wrong. I've had my Y510 for about 2 years or so and the only thing ever to go wrong was the right hinge. All of a sudden the other day, I would turn my computer on and only the media buttons/ processor lights would turn on. The screen was totally blank, not even backlit or anything. I tried connecting the compter to an external monitor but I still didn't get anything. Even pressing the NOVO recovery button didn't do anything. Any Ideas would greatly be appreciated.
UPDATE: I was reading an article/faq that showed very similar to my problem, however lenovo says I need to update my BIOS. But how would I even going about doing so when I can't even get the lcd to turn on?

I have been having a same problem. My screen is all time black, RAM are good , but i think thats a graphic card. i put it to oven for 10 minutes / 200 Celzius and at first try screen had gone( none black screen but white screen with able to change a brightness of screen) but on second try it didint ( because I thought that first try wasnt enough).
Only throw it away and buy a new one .
If you discover some ideas, please reply.
