Re: Y510 Fan bearing lubrication

Well, the sound during load hasn't really changed much, but I can live with that (as I have to this day Smiley Wink

But what made me wow was that idle temp dropped to 40-45C now! under load with turbo boost still around 85C (without turbo boost around 75C) -ambient temp 23,7C.

I guess laptop fans aren't famous for their quality and that's it. I wish there was a cap (like here http://www.overclockers.com/em-spinning-lubricate-pc-fans/) in a fan like mine, then it would be vey easy and I suppose more efficient. I know laptops aren't exacly made to mess with whats  inside.

Cheers

Re: Y510 Fan bearing lubrication

Thanks for posting back with an update.

Give the oil a chance to get worked in.  Hopefully the sound will decrease as time goes on.
