Y510 - Fan problem

Hi,

A couple of months after getting my Y510, I noticed the fan stuck on high.

I updated the BIOS to the latest (33) and ACPI drivers etc. without any luck.

At times the hardware forces a shutdown "thinking" that the machine is over-heating, when it is not.

Core temps are between 40 and 50 degrees celcius.

I have to remove the battery and run on AC for the machine to stay powered on.

Seems I have a BIOS + fan + battery problem. As I use the laptop for work, it would be difficult handing it in for repair, so I was wondering if there was a self help fix to this.

Thank you.

Re: Y510 - Fan problem

Try using another power scheme in EneregCut.
