Well, let's make sure it works for more than one person before we close this topic.

I plan on trying it later today.

Re: Y510 and XP: Brightness Hotkeys don't work

VICTORYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Brightness Hotkeys in XP now work as they were intended to work - no driver update necessary after the BIOS update.

Thanks to Lenovo to issuing the fix. (Though I suspect this is just a happy coincidence, or else I think this fix would have been publicized as such. Regardless, I'm happy.)

Re: Y510 and XP: Brightness Hotkeys don't work

Thank you Lenovo, mine now works and I am using my screen again, although I did have a mini heart attack after updating the BIOS when my laptop wouldn't boot up, not even in Safe Mode! I had forgotten to switch the SATA back to Compatible in the BIOS - other Lenovo users take note! Smiley Wink

Re: Y510 and XP: Brightness Hotkeys don't work

All,

Indeed this was addressed in the BIOS.

Thanks to the community for alerting us to the issue, for being patient while it was worked, and lastly for reporting back that the update resolves the issue in the field.

I apologize for being a bit out of the loop on the status of the fix.    Ideally, we should communicate a fix just ahead or at the time it is made available.

Thanks again.
