Y510 antiglare

All of the reviews and articles I have read about the Y510 complain about the extra shiny screen.

But on the spec. page on Lenovo's web page, the display is described as being anti-glare type.

Is this a new development, or for those with the shiny screens, did the spec. page have the same description when you guys ordered yours?

Re: Y510 antiglare

From the very beginning Y510 did not have any restyling. The screnn did not change. It is glare. You'd better go to store and watch it by yourself to understand how far it goes, because even photos can't deliever the right mark.

Re: Y510 antiglare

i dont know why people complain about screen glare with the y510 or any laptop. i think honestly ull have glare reguardless of ur screen type if ur outside in the freaking sun. laptops arnt made to be outside in the sun. i dont have any issues with glare on my y510 i usually adjust the brightness and if i sit outside i pick a shadey area to sit.

Re: Y510 antiglare

You see, some people have very sensitive eyes that can`t tolerate full powered backlight from the screen. Or, other people get headaches from focusing too often on two different focal planes.

I have both of these problems . As of now - the screen is untolerable. If AG screen won`t help - I`ll have to consider selling the thing.

Re: Y510 antiglare

Update:

http://price.sunrise.ru/descriptionPage.aspx?a=2494060&s=&p=400 - this seems to have helped. For those who don`t understand - it`s a protective and anti-glare screen for LCDs. Costs around 15$ and is quite easy to apply yourself.

Video (the same as "under the sun", just better at telling how it looks)

I have also tested it on the bus and so far quite like how it works. Reflections are less, blurry, lost their depth and do not distract at all.
