Y510P Not Booting or POST

My laptop will not boot past the initial power/battery access light. That means no initial whir of the HDD, fans, no power on beeps, no initial LENOVO screen, and no BIOS options. Basically no POST activity at all. Neither pressing the standard power button nor pressing the OneKey Recovery button will invite a response. After initially "turning it on", turning it off is also impossible without removing the battery.

 

The problem started yesterday. My computer refused to charge using my standard 170W charger, which was solved by removing and replacing the battery. However ever since then it's been in this borked state. I've even reset the CMOS settings, but nothing's changed. Please help!

Welcome in lenovo community,

 

Please try the below,

 

1- Turn off the laptop >> Unplug the charger >> Remove the battery.

2- Hold the power button for 20 seconds.

3- Connect the charger only >> Hold the power button for 10 seconds.

Done. Upon holding the power for ten seconds while the laptop is on charger power only, the power light goes out. Once I let go of the button, it goes back on and the computer does nothing like it did in the OP. It still doesn't work.

My friend and a local computer repair store both say my motherboard is fried. Is that right?
