I recently purchased Y510p which comes with a 24GB SSD drive which acts as a cache to the HD. In windows task manager under performance tab I can see it listed as Disk 0. However, this disk does not show any kind of activity in the task manager. I am wondering if I need to enable the caching from some where? I already checked the Intel Rapid Storage, and it shows the status as active for the SSD.

I dont believe there is any problem. My Disk0 shows 0% activity as well but caching is working since my boot times are <15 secs and all programs work very fast.

Open up a command window with Administrator privileges and type in this:
If the ExpressCache software has been installed and is working correctly it will show you a report of how the SSD is working.
To open up a command window, hold the Windows key down on the keyboard and press the X button. After that press the A key.
samory - There is not a model with 28 GB. There is a model with 24 GB which is a separate card about the size of my thumb and there is a Y510P model with 8 GB. The 8 GB model has the cache integrated into the main hard drive.

yeah dont worry if 0% in task manager -
I have a y410p w/ 1tb + 24gb ssd, expresscache enabled and my boot times are <10 seconds, programs that have been loaded once before (ie. cached) take <2 seconds to load (ms office apps literally open in <1 second).
disk usage always at 0% though.
