Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

I have the same problem, each time I reboot/shut down the laptop, that blue button turns off.

By the way, is really necessary that Dolby Home Theater v4 software you guys have post up there?
I mean, aren't we already enjoying Dolby Home Theater v4 when we enable that blue Dolby button in propieties of the speakers?
Is it make a big difference when watching films?

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

Yeah... but just a moment I try to upgrade the newest realtek driver, but when I try the dolby, the sound was getting worse and didn't feel right. so I downgrade the realtek and then install the dolby software, and now when I reboot the dolby still on

Yeah, actually for me not really neccesary, but it's kinda annoying for me, because when I booting my laptop I must enable it

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

I can install it but the equalizer doesn't respond, and the sound is the same with dolby turned on and off. I have Windows 8.1 64bit on my Lenovo Ideapad Y510P. I really want to listen to the Dolby Digital v4 Home Theater i paid for. I have the latest Realtek Audio driver for windows 8.1, version: 6.0.1.7030.

Any solutions to fix this issue?

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

Dolby Digital v4 Home Theater works fine on Windows 8 and I've read that Dolby Home Theater is not supported for Y510p on Windows 8.1.

One thing i can recommend to try is to download and install the audio driver for Windows 8, because it's probably a driver issue that is the source of the problem.

You can find the Windows 8 audio driver here: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS035630

Hope i could help!

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

Nice!

Now I have the REAL DHTv4. That freaking blue button didn't make any notable difference. Now with that eq and surround I can experience a huge improvement.

Nevertheless, I've an issues or disadvantage (compared to the generic January 2014 audio driver I got installed):

1. I can't separate the 2 recording inputs: black in and microphone. With the last generic driver, you could separate in Recording devices the 2 inputs, so you had microphone AND microphone (black in). I can't separate them now cause I don't have the Realtek control panel anymore since I installed those drivers.

Thanks a lot anyway, now I'm experiencing DHTv4!

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

Well I`ll write herecause it`s sound related. I was  using  the Realtek driver from the Lenovo official site. Later on I installed the GT755M in SLI and the problems started- at first very bad micro shutering and very bad sound quality in some apps. I noticed that all of the newest nVidia drivers install HD sound from nVidia as well. They include that in almost every driver now, even the old ones are updated. So somehow I menaged with the microshutering but the sound disappered when lunching some applications/programs.

Problem was solved when I removed the realtek drivers.

I`m stuck with the HD nvidia sound driver now.

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

I dunno if it`s important in any way, but just for the protocol - I lave a red led inside the jack for the sound. When I removed the realtek drivers it turned on again. I remmeber long time ago that bouth the mic and the sound were on. But have never seen them on for a long time. I dunno if it`s some indication for drivers or device ready or some sort....

My system is y510p

Re: Y510p missing Dolby Home Theater

I installed the realtek drivers over the nVidia HD driver....so now I have both.....the led is off now and the sound power boosted up
