I bought a Y560 yesterday. I like it so far. Only one problem. I am unable to connect to my WEP wireless network (have to keep it WEP) but was able to connect to a WAP network. Please help.

Re: Y560 Wireless connection problem

a couple of weeks ago one of my friends had the same issue, he was able to connect wireless via dell but he wasn't able to connect vith other pcs. i just checked the settings over internet with remote connection and i noticed he just set 6 charachters for the password, i added two more charachters and it worked.

if you have 12 charachters, add 4 more then try again.
set password off and try again. if it works, it's all about the charachters.
or you can try another security methods such as wep, wpa, wpa2 etc...

Re: Y560 Wireless connection problem

Other computers in the room are connecting fine with the WEP connection, so i think the problem is in the lenovo settings or driver.

Re: Y560 Wireless connection problem

Here is the solution

Windows 7 sometimes is not able to properly identify WEP connection, you have to manually add it then.

Y560 Can only connect to a wireless internet connection, cant connect to wired.

I have never been able to connect to a wired connection, other laptops can connect to this wired connection but mine cant. Anyone help please. When I connect the able to my laptop there is a green light that is solid and there is a flashing orange light.

Re: Y560 Can only connect to a wireless internet connection, cant connect to wired.

I kind of have this problem. For me, my laptop likes to connect to wireless, so I plug in an ethernet, and then switch off my wifi and my laptop has no better option.
