Y560 - installing additional network card through extra PCIe

Hello, so I've got a laptop network card that receives 802.11a signals

Now I managed to slot that into the extra mini PCIe slot and screwed it down firmly.

My problem is it doesn't pick it up once I've booted. I restarted and rearranged the boot order to boot up the extra slot first and it seems to be waiting for some boardcom pxe.

I had a look through the knowledgebase but I didn't find much.

any help would be appreciated, thanks

I don't know if it's a fix, but it might and there's no harm in trying, you can just change it back after you try.  In advanced system settings

Good luck

Thanks for trying to help man, but I can't see your picture. It's a greyed out triangle

EDIT:

I'm guessing you mean Device Installation Settings

Hi Velenoso,

unfortunately I see all your pictures in all your posts as greyed out triangles,

any hint what to do to make them visible?

Re: Y560 - installing additional network card through extra PCIe

Nah, yeah I've tried this and did some other stuff with the windows update.

Maybe it might be because the mobo only accepts network cards in one place cause of the on/off switch, dunno.

That or something to do with the bios?
