Y560: overheating and dancing pixels in new mainboard

Hello,

my laptop config is: Y560, i5 430M, 4gb ram, 500gb hdd, 1gb switchable ati radeon hd5730(updated drivers), win 7 hp 64 bit, BIOS: 30CN54WW.

My laptop had a motherboard replacement yesterday and new problem start to come. GPU and CPU gets extremely heated upon playing game for few minutes( 95 degree celsius+ ). laptop has shut down automatically for 4-5 times from yesterday, probably because of overheating. Also, i have noticed that whenever i tilt my laptop screen, dancing pixels, which looks like ants moving on the screen shows up.

This thing didnt happen with the previous mobo, when it was fine.

This mainbaord replacement took after 2 long months in service center! I am very depressed with my laptop now.

please help me!

-Pranav

pixel dance problem has resolved, but overheating still exists..
idle cpu and gpu temp ~50-55* celsius, and ~90+ on playing game..

Re: overheating and dancing pixels in new mainboard

game was working well, no problem.

Then all of a sudden, laptop shut down, thts it!

Upon restart, error comes, " Windows did not shut down properly.....". i choose, "start windows normally" and laptop starts again.

Re: overheating and dancing pixels in new mainboard

make sure the fan is clean.

i'm gonna suggest you to use thermal grease for cpu but dissembling your computer may void your warranty.

Re: overheating and dancing pixels in new mainboard

@yigit, i was reading, http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-U-B-V-and-Z-series/IdeaPad-Y560-heat-issues-with-BIOS-71/td-p/... , and found that BIOS v 71 is causing a lot of heating problem and downgrading to v 59 is much better. Is it so?
well, i will call customer care and take my laptop to service center again tomorrow!

Re: overheating and dancing pixels in new mainboard

not for all systems, some system are effected.
no need to ship it back to service, due to bios 71 issue at least, if you ask my personal opinion.

did you perform clean windows installation after you got your laptop back from service?
