Have an Ideapad Y560 that has a critical video failure.
Booting up the system cold, after 20-30 minutes of usage the screen turns wonky. I will get pizelated and scrambled video, streaks and flashes across the display, and eventually the system will outright hang (screen goes blank, sound stuck on the last waveform it played)
I have removed the heatpipe, cleaned off the old thermal paste and put new thermal gel on them. Nothing blocking the radiator fins for the heat sync and fan is spinning. I might have put it down to a video driver problem in MSWin10 (the first few times it glitches I can bring up the task manager, and it will be clearly readable, but later on that can change), however one time when it had gotten really bad I booted to the Linux partition (Mint 19.2, Cinamon Desktop) and it also had damaged video.
I captured it failing on video (running the Ungine rendering test) to better show what's happening. Presuming I can upload it here, or you can look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfVDEApkJSs&feature=youtu.be
